There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Ishani is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from India and is a fan of ASTRO and her bias is Cha EunWoo. Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? Hello, I am Ishani Nandy and I’m from India, West Bengal. I’m a college student and an heartcore AROHA. How and when did you enter the fandom? Actually, I’m a die heart K-Drama fan. So I like to watch everything regarding K-Drama on YouTube. ASTRO caught my eyes first time when YouTube recommend me their ‘Knock’ MV from 7th mini album. And then I started watching them since then. Now I can proudly say that I became an AROHA💜 What are the reasons why you love your favorite group? There are millions of reasons to love them, their visual, their talent, their bond with each other, their hard work, everything makes me a proud AROHA . Who caught your attention at first and why? CHA EUNWOO. Yes, it’s him. Because of him, I couldn’t focus on anything when I first time saw him. Who is your bias, and why? Cha EunWoo is my ultimate Bias. It’s difficult to say the reason. I love him because he’s different from other and he’s talented, caring, and many more. Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? Title track I recommend is ‘After Midnight’. and B-side track is ‘Gemini’. Can you recommend a fancam, V-Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers? I will recommend ‘All Good’ fancam. V Live I love most is “All Night special live”.
Cover song video I recommend “How can I love the heartbreak” By MJ. The dance cover I like most is ‘Snapping’ dance cover by Rocky. My all time favourite is EunWoo’s ‘Aloha’ Cover song. Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group? I will recommend ASTRO playing games and DDOCA and “ASTRO Play” and also group live. Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? I love ‘Gemini’ lyrics, these lyrics give me goosebumps. “You always light me up like a star in the night sky There’s a cold wind next to me When it blows again, will you protect me even after all this time? The place we embroidered together remains in my heart Will you rain down on me with thosе stars?” Are there any words from the members you would like to share? ASTRO you’re shining stars in this whole universe. No matter where I will be in the future, I will be always by your side. I will always protect you. I will always support you. WE ARE ONE. What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life? Before becoming an AROHA my life is too boring. After entering this Fandom they give me lots of strength, they give me happiness. Yes and also my one and only dream is meeting with them. What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying? TOGETHERNESS!! Yesss whenever I saw them on stage, whenever they approach us, through the fanchant we feel that we are a family. Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)? Some people think that this group has no strength, they are weak. That is not true. ASTRO is an adorable refreshing group. They are so amazing that they taught us not to hate other groups and to not spread negative influence. They are soft but not weak. You can also add a message to your bias or show it on a message scrapbook. Dear ASTRO thank you for coming into my life. If anyone say what is happiness I will always say it’s ASTRO. Your angelic smile always gives me strength, whenever I’m sad you come to me and cheer me up, you taught me how to fight back through your hard work.
