There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Syd is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from the U.S. and is a fan of BDC and more particularly of Yun JungHwan! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? Hi, I’m Syd, I am 20 years old and I’m from Missouri, in the US! How and when did you enter the fandom? I became a FINE, about one year ago! I saw them on “After School Club” (ASC) (go MC Kwan!!) and instantly fell in love! From there, I just began listening to their music and the rest is history. What are the reasons why you love your favorite group? I love BDC so much because they are always smiling, and having fun. They take so much pride in what they do, and genuinely want to provide fans with quality music and content. Who caught your attention at first and why? Kim SiHun! I first saw the three playing jenga, and SiHun is the loudest of the bunch, so naturally he caught my eye. Who is your bias, and why? Honestly I am OT3, but I have a soft spot for Yun JungHwan. JungHwan is the maknae and quietest of them, his vocals are insane, visuals off the charts, and his cat Jinnie is the cutest! His members give him a hard time, but he always makes sure to laugh at their bad jokes. Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? Title Track - ‘Moonlight’ B-side- ‘Chemical’. I also recommend ‘Hole In Your Face’ ft Lee EunSang! Its perfect for the spring weather ~ Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers? BDC hasn’t uploaded many solo covers, but this one from JungHwan is a must listen! Can you also do the same type of recommendation for the group? They’re vocals, and the mixing is so satisfying in this video. Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? “I’m paving my own way on the sand, it’s a new attempt Let’s spread the map and write down our history in this miracle” - ‘Mirage’, BDC. Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)? BDC is not a temporary group! Apparently a few people have thought this, but, Boys Da Capo are here to stay, and FINE are looking forward to their next comeback! Thank you for answering our questions, Syd.
