As you entered the dimly-lit venue, a respectable crowd of VVS (fandom name for VANNER) continued to grow as the approaching time came for them to come on stage. Mostly a crowd of spirited, young women whose cheers drowned the steady music that blared signaling the start of the show. As the upbeat tempo of ‘FORM’ blasted through the speakers, VVS danced and sang along, surprising the quintet group that took the stage by storm. Going in strong, VANNER continued with a fan favorite, ‘LACHATA’. Their choreographed moves and singing were on point. Fans never wavered in their enthusiasm, and as ‘LACHATA’ finished strongly, the lights blared down on the five men on stage ready to introduce themselves with the help of their translator. The cheers never let up. Starting with the youngest member, YeongGwang, he let VVS know who he thought the self-proclaimed handsome one in the group was. Hint: Himself. Ahxian was next, introducing himself in English with a baritone voice that had fans screaming their love for the rapper. One fan in particular with quite the pair of lungs had both VANNER and the crowd laughing at how strong her vocal cords were. Next was TaeHwan, the leader of the group who had an easy-going smile throughout the show. Followed by the main dancer, Gon, who was easily the most out-going and playful one of the group, as he so aptly demonstrated throughout the duration of the concert. Last to introduce himself was lead vocalist, HyeSeong, sporting a pastel pink hairstyle that went well with his charming good looks. After the fan engagement, where they did a quick Q&A, VANNER began ‘PURGE DAY’ from their single album “5cean : V”. Their US Tour was an impressive one, to say the least. Riddled with a solo from TaeHwan singing ‘0X1=LOVESONG (I Know I Love You)’ by TXT with strong vocals that emphasized his role as the main vocalist. HyeSeong with help from Ahxian singing ‘Permission to Dance’ by BTS was also impressive. We also can’t forget the nod in the K-Hip-Hop direction with Gon, Ahxian, and YeongGwang strongly rapping to ‘Turtle Ship’ by Paloalto ft. G2, B-Free, Okasian and Zico, a personal favorite. VANNER will continue their US BOOST Up Tour, touching down in Colorado, Utah, and ending with two stops in California.
