“Drive to the Starry Road” is ASTRO ’s third full-length album since debut and their most recent release. What makes this album even more special is that for the first time ever, it features solo songs from all six members. Check out the best b-sides from the “Drive to the Starry Road” album that any AROHA and non-AROHA should add to their favourite playlist.
1. MJ solo - ‘Story’
It’s no surprise that the dedicated ASTRO leader’s solo song feels like the best solo on the album. From the heart-warming lyrics to his to-die-for vocals, it all sings perfection. While he did participate in the jacket album shooting and songwriting right before he enlisted, his temporary absence practically becomes nonexistent the second ‘Story’ comes on.
2. MoonBin solo – ‘Let’s go ride’
Unlike their title track ‘Candy Sugar Pop’ and some other songs on the album with relatively bright beats, MoonBin’s solo is much slower and deliberate, and the sway of his voice perfectly go hand in glove with the deliberate tunes in this song. ‘Let’s go ride’ would be the most suitable listen to help anyone unwind after a long day, and your favourite playlist will thank you for this addition.
3. ASTRO – ‘More’
If the other songs are more suitable for a drive or for relaxing, this one is the best contender for an intimate party playlist. AROHA would definitely love this song, as it will for sure get you moving to its addictive beats. It’s the kind of track that can stay on repeat day in day out without your ears getting bored. It’s just that brilliant of a song.
4. Rocky solo - ‘S#1.’
One word to describe ‘S#1.’ : sentimental. Rocky really said let the tears flow with this song, as his vocals also add to the nostalgic feel of this track. Despite being the lead rapper, Rocky shows us his vocals aren’t to be underestimated either. The best part of this song: the girl’s heartfelt plea to him, telling him to be with someone else other than her. Aren’t your tissues soaked yet?
5. Cha EunWoo solo – ‘First Love’
Fans are sure to be captured by Cha EunWoo’s sweet voice in this song. It is after all a staple for several drama OSTs. His vocals and the lyrics are everything, and it’s just the song to play while on a highway drive with your first love, or anybody for that matter. He definitely knew what would capture fans hearts while he recorded and wrote this song, because it is, as the lyrics rightfully say, too good to be true.
