There are K-Pop fans across the globe who share the same passion. But on online platforms, it is hard to know about each other’ stories and K-Pop life. Even if we are in the same fandom, it is hard to get to know each other. So at Kpopmap, we started the Kpopmap Fan Interview Project to get to know more about K-Pop fans from different countries: more about their K-Pop life and tastes and to give them the opportunity to share with our readers about their favorite group(s) and bias. Arissa is the next fan to answer our questions. She is from Malaysia and is a fan of THE BOYZ, and particularly of Kevin! Check out how she entered the fandom, the songs and content she advises to new fans, and much more! Can you introduce yourself? Where are you from? My name is Arissa… I’m from Malaysia. How and when did you enter the fandom? I became a The B because I interacted with THE BOYZ’s former member. Also their visual faces - it make me want to research about them. What are the reasons why you love your favorite group? They are 100% talented and they can do anything for their fans. Who caught your attention at first and why? HyunJae mostly took my attention. His personality is different than other members. Who is your bias, and why? Kevin… The first time I saw him, I thought he was so kind and friendly…He also talented and almost very caring to everyone. Can you recommend a title track and a B-side track for new fans? I would like to recommend ‘Thrill Ride’ because the song is fresh and young. Meanwhile, for B-side I recommend ‘Salty’ and ‘Checkmate’ because it has a soft dance and is a legendary song.
Can you recommend a fancam, V Live, cover video, cover dance, or individual content video of your bias to our readers? I recommend ‘Sorry, Sorry’ and ‘What is Love’ dance cover.
Can you share with us one of your favorite lyrics? It’s lyrics from ‘Timeless’: “As always We’ll be together Like a timeless song We’ll be happy ever after.” Are there any words from the members you would like to share? “I’m so happy because I always have with all.” What type of concept do you prefer: cute, dark, sexy, etc? I prefer dark more than and sexy. What is your best souvenir with your favorite group until now? I was touched when their member said that he’s so grateful because his fans always have with them. Can you recommend words that your bias like to hear to new fans who don’t know yet about it? “I’m thankful to you because you created a new journey with me.” Can you share with readers the first ever picture you’ve saved of your bias on your phone? I don’t remember which one but it was from Pinterest. For me, my bias is… He’s my motivation to continue working hard. What’s your favourite 2022 moment involving your bias? I was happy when his birthday was coming. What is a random fact that you think people don’t know about them? Funny and cute… Sometimes they’re really legendary. Name a variety show/content show that you loved seeing your bias on? Tell us why. Their debut variety show “THE BOYZ Flower Snack”, because Kevin is kind with the children and he has sweet voice. If you could spend the day with them, what would you want to do together? Yes.. I want to do a sweet moment and create memories. Can you recall a moment where you cried/laughed with your bias? Their 1st win in “The Show” with ‘Bloom Bloom’. Is there some food you saw your bias group eat that made you crave it too? Sticky candy. If your bias were to collab with another idol, who do you think would be best? I want them collab with TXT, ENHYPEN, or ATEEZ. What is the biggest mystery about your favourite idol? They always suprise their fans through a comeback, variety show, performance and others things. What is your favorite group/bias’ influence on your daily life? They push me to make my dream come true. What is your favorite side of fangirling/fanboying? I can always trust on them although no matter what happens. Do you feel there are any misunderstandings, things that are not well known, or any prejudices about your favorite group from other fans (non-fans)? They think this group’s performance is very stiff.
