Here are 6 K-Drama characters that gave us bestie goals!
1. Lee JoonHo from “Prison Playbook” played by Jung KyungHo
Jung KyungHo deserves an award for playing characters who are such amazing friends that they give us FOMO. In “Prison Playbook”, JoonHo is Park HaeSoo’s character Kim JeHyuk’s pillar of strength during the darkest time of his life. From bending the rules to quite literally, saving his life and his dream, JoonHo risks it all for JeHyuk. Everyone deserves a friend like JoonHo.
2. Lee IkJoon from “Hospital Playlist” played by Cho JungSeok
The very embodiment of sunshine, Lee IkJoon’s presence could make all your blues go away. Not only is he unbelievably funny, thus being able to make light of any situation but also his emotional maturity is one of his greatest strengths which allows his friends and at times, even strangers, to naturally confide in him. IkJoon is the type of friend to drive to your house at 3 in the morning if you said you needed him and we could not be more jealous of the “Hospital Playlist” squad.
3. Kim JungHwan from “Reply 1988” played by Ryu JunYeol
Ryu JunYeol’s Kim JungHwan is the poster child of selfless and unconditional platonic love, even when that love comes in the way of romance. His tsundere nature makes him seem mysterious but he deeply cares for his friends and family. The way he accepts the fact of losing his beloved to a dear friend and justifies it with grace, is simply exceptional. However, that doesn’t diminish his adoration for either of them in any way and that is the kind of unchanging support we need from a friend.
4. Baek SeolHee from “Fight For My Way” played by Song HaYoon
SeolHee is the kind of friend who is so invested in the well-being of those she holds dear that she often forgets to take care of herself. Now, friends like that are rare and need to be treasured like precious gems. SeolHee is patient, kind and always on her friends’ side, even when they do things she advised them against. Now, that’s what you call a cheerleader for life! If you have a friend like SeolHee, don’t forget to check on them and support them just as they do for you.
5. Hwang HanJoo from “Be Melodramatic” played by Han JiEun
Bubbly, honest and doting: Hwang HanJoo is truly a blessing to have as a friend. She never hesitates to stand up for anyone, whether that be a new hire at her office or her lifelong best friend. Her maternal instinct is activated not just for her child but also for her friends and it is the most adorable thing ever! The best part about having HanJoo as a friend, however, is her candid nature: she will always tell you the truth, right to your face but at the same time, if a white lie is what you need, she’ll still have your back.
6. Cha MiJo from “Thirty, Nine” played by Son YeJin
The latest addition to our “Best Best Friends” list is Cha MiJo from the currently ongoing drama “Thirty, Nine”. She might seem sweet and soft-spoken on the outside but she will never hold the bitter truth from you, even if that hurts your feelings. She is fiercely protective and fights don’t intimidate her one bit. She can and she will tear someone’s hair out if they try to hurt you. Cha MiJo is the Mama Bear of the friend group and we love her to pieces. Who is your favourite K-Drama bestie? Share your thoughts with Kpopmap in the comments section down below!
